Gendai Reiki
Gendai Reiki is a style of Reiki created by Sensei Hiroshi Doi combining Usui Ryoho Reiki taught in the West with Usui Ryoho Reiki taught in Japan. The word "Gendai" means modern.
Japanese Reiki seems, in general, more spiritually-oriented than its western counterpart. In the West, the focus on Reiki has been on a healing arts technique for healing body, mind, spirit. In addition to the practice of Reiki as a modality for healing, Gendai Reiki combines meditations and practices for using Reiki energy for a deeper spiritual connection and for a better connection with the energy.
Gendai Reiki is taught in four levels. The Reiki energy is transferred from the teacher to the student through an empowerment (attunement) process which deepens the student's connection to Reiki directly from Source. Reiki energy refines one's energetic vibration to bring greater alignment with purpose and healing on all levels of one's being. It is truly a wonderful gift of Reiki that one can use it with others as well as receiving its benefits for one’s self.
Anyone can learn Reiki. And indeed, the world would be a much different place if everyone on the planet took at least level I Reiki training.
